About Us
David and Susan Meakem have spent 50% of their lives selling window treatments and retractable awnings.
They both were raised
in Sayreville N.J., met in High School and married in 1981. Susan graduated
from Wagner College with a BS in chemistry and worked in Nuclear Medicine
for 10 years. Dave attended Middlesex County College and worked as an
electrician for 10 years.
Susan's dad was a successful building contractor while Dave's dad was a
commercial painting contractor. This taught us a great deal about the
values, opportunities and responsibilities of running a business. Both
families were creative in building, art and design. What a gifted backgound
for establishing our business. Window treatments and awnings require a
unique combination of mechanical, functional and decorative skills.
We began our family with the birth of our son David in 1986 and started our
business. Teresa was born in 1994. We raised our family at the beautiful
Jersey Shore. Two Jack Russel Terriers have made our family complete. Many
years were spent vacationing on Hilton Head Island and skiing in Stowe
Vermont.
Our life skills, education and background gives an understanding of what we
need to help you make the project you trust to us successful. We love what
we do and work hard so our clients will love what we do also.
